Veteran Ken Roesner was fastest of all the Wisbech Wheelers riders in the VC Norwich 10 mile event on Bank Holiday Monday.
At 54 his personal best of 21.58 pushed top rider Mat Webster into second with Andy Bean in third.
Ken’s wife Elaine also improved her pb making it a family double.
On Tuesday riders could do their own thing in the last non-counting event of the Wisbech evening series.
Triathlete Mat McClure took advantage of the perfect conditions with a sizzling 21 minute performance and 14-year-old Jacob Shailes got a new pb.
In the teams, powerful duo Paul Ashby and Richard Eve pushed each other inside 21 mins and lady vet Elaine Roesner was assisted by her husband Ken to a new pb by almost a minute.
Tandem partners Mike MacInerney and Nathan Steel lost a pedal and opened the door for vets Lou Campion and Pete Baldwin with a two minute improvement of their pb.
