Wisbech Wheeler Andy Bean, with a personal best of 1.00.05 for 25 miles, was hoping for a six-second improvement to bring him under the hour.

Instead he stormed round the course in the VC Norwich Open TT to an incredible 53.33 slicing more than six minutes from his previous best. Veteran Dave Webster made a more modest improvement of over a minute to 1.02.22.

Other riders who decided to save themselves for the Wisbech Open ‘25’ this Sunday were disappointed as it was cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions.

In the Tuesday evening event now on the full 10 mile course Mat McClure once again took first.

Doug McClure was second chased-in by the constantly improving Wayne Hall. All riders took longer except Ian Luck who was still seven seconds quicker than last week over the longer distance.
