Sutton’s good run of form continued on Saturday with a superb team display of disciplined, attacking hockey giving their survival chances a bigger boost.

Danny Sisson broke the deadlock as he raced forward one-on-one with the keeper, kept his nerve superbly as he rounded him and smashed home. Colchester’s only chance was a short corner which Harrison tipped over the bar. Featherstone then fed Sisson who launched a thunderbolt from his reverse stick to make it 2-0 at half-time.

After the break Fyson, Allen and Sisson (for his hat-trick) scored.
