Long Sutton Summer

Hockey League sponsored by Abbeygate Rest

Homes Limited

Wisbech 2nd 4 The Ninjas 0

The inaugural match of the League saw a rusty Ninja team beaten by a well drilled and skilful Wisbech side. Stand out performances for Ninjas were Jeorgia Carr and Lachan Read.

Spalding 2

Petes Presidential Picks 4

Spalding twice took the lead but were pegged back by strikes from Katie Ireland and Adam Wiles, Ireland then gave the Pressies the lead with a fantastic deflected finish before Becky Kierman finished with style.

The Pressies mix worked well together with Jason Mallet, Nick Bailey and Sutton Old-Boy Jacob Read working hard.

Spalding 2nd 3,

The Nerd Herd 2

The Nerds changed it a round a little in the second half and this paid dividends with Gary Hales and Danny Batten levelling the game before Spalding’s winner.

Wisbech 3, Sutton Sabres 1

Wisbech started strongly and soon went into a 2-0 lead before half time.

Good work by Emma Howell resulted in Becky Kierman scoring over Wisbech keeper Sheppard. For Sabres, Lorraine Wallis in goal and Lisa Baker at centre back performed very well. A short corner finish came with the last hit of the game.
