This Sunday (September 8), Wisbech Tennis Club are staging their finals day starting at 11.30am with the Ladies and Mens Singles.

This is followed by a Mixed Doubles American Tournament at 1pm; please sign up in the clubhouse before the day. At around 3.30pm there will be a fun game of Grid, for anyone to play for £1.

President Belinda Sutton will present the trophies to tournament winners as well as the Peter Peukert Trophy and other junior awards at about 4pm followed by refreshments and a raffle, all are welcome.

Earlier in the week another strong performance from Wisbech Mens A team versus Terrington A in the West Norfolk league. This game was played at Wisbech with Ben Allen and Gary Fitzjohn halving their matches, whilst James Newton and Dan Bambridge won all four games, giving Wisbech an overall 6-2 win.

With only one game left in the season versus Terrington B there is a good chance Wisbech will top the division and take back the trophy.

If you have been following Andy Murray’s progress and would like to try a new sport, new tennis courses start next week at the Thomas Clarkson for both adults and juniors. Juniors aged between 3 and 8 are indoors (different times available). Courses cater for the complete beginner to the experienced match player. For further information contact Lisa on 07788857502.
