New England coach Croft at March Town
New member of England’s coaching staff Robert Croft was the guest speaker at March Town Cricket Club’s annual dinner on Friday.
The former off-spinning international will join England’s coaching team for the one-day leg of their current successful tour to South Africa.
Croft, who played 21 Tests and 50 one-day internationals for England, will work with the spin bowlers for a 12-day period. The 45-year-old is currently on the coaching staff at his former county Glamorgan.
Croft entertained 60 members and guests at MTCC with amusing stories from his playing career. The Welshman regaled some memorable moments with ex-England coach Duncan Fletcher, Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis and the legendary West Indies batsman Sir Viv Richards.
