By Pete Woodhouse

Catch-up kings Outwell Swifts have taken the Cambs League Mead Plant & Grab 3B title by six points from Buckden Reserves.

The Nest became the home of the divisional accolade after Swifts won 2-1 at home to Fordham Reserves on Saturday after Thursday’s 6-0 home triumph over St Ives Rangers Reserves.

Goals against Rangers Res came from Jason Day 2, Ben Jimson 2, Joel Mattless and Luke Plumb.

The Cambs Lower Junior cup-winning side finished on 67 points after Outwell needed to play catch-up with many midweek fixtures at the end of a gruelling campaign – the price of success a non-league team always pays when embarking on a cup run.
