Spriggs triumphs in Tydd Gote Sunday match
Heavy overnight rain put a dampener on the fishing at Tydd Gote’s Sunday club match at Main Road as the bream refused to feed in the colder water.
But it was still end peg 35 that came up trumps as Paul Spriggs found a big skimmer and pound plus perch on the feeder and worm and topped it up with another good skimmer and silvers from his short pole line to pinkie to put 7lb 10oz on the scales for a narrow victory.
Martin Roper was on peg 23 and fished mainly at 6m with pinkie over groundbait for roach and skimmers and a 6lb 12oz total for second place.
