Leverington wrapped up their title-winning season away at already-relegated Abbots Ripton.
Losing the toss they were put into bat on a below-acceptable pitch and had to graft hard for all of their runs.
Despite the early loss of Gilbert a second wicket partnership of 60 between Will Rhodes (53) and Glynne Wilson (24) got Leverington back on track.
Following four cheap dismissals in the middle order it was left to Andy Reid (16), Gill, Cooper (14*) and Peck to chip in as Leverington posted 155 all out.
Ian Cooper clean bowled the opening pair without score and Luke Wilson (5-0-7-3) numbers 3 and 4 for just 2, Abbots were 3 for 4, then 8-6!
John Gill added another duck to the book (six in total) and he returned with 10-2-19-2 to finish with 24 wickets for the season. Skipper Cooper finished the game to end with 8.2-4-11-4 and the hosts 53 all out. Leverington finished the season clear top losing just once and will start next season in Cambs Junior 2.
On Sunday Leverington hosted Swaffham CC who won the toss and elected to bat. Wilson bagged 4-18 off 7 overs accounting for the top four batsmen.
B. Clarke picked up the vital wicket of M.Smith (36) with a full toss. Peck bowled superbly in his last two overs, taking four wickets in just 12 balls (4-38), ending Swaffham’s innings in only the 19th over.
Ian Cooper (27*) and S. Bailey (20) chased down the total of 60 with some quick singles and twos. Cooper smashed two sixes to end the game in only the 10th over, and bring Leverington their first win in the league on Sundays.
