Perry begins world championship campaign
Chatteris potter Joe Perry begins his snooker World Championship 2015 campaign at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield this morning.
His first round match (best of 19 frames) starts at 10am versus 23-year-old Zhang Anda (China).
The 40-year-old, who reached the semi-final in 2008 where he narrowly lost to Ali Carter, picked up his first ranking tournament win this season. The second round is from tomorrow to Monday, best of 25 frames. The final is on May 3-4, best of 35 frames.
Zhang Anda stands at 5 ft. 3 in. tall, and is nicknamed “Mighty Mouse”.
Zhang lives in Romford, England, during the snooker season and is managed by Grove Leisure, practising at their Academy facility which is also based in Romford.
