Wisbech Rugby Club's Dan Di Meo, Frazer Brown, brothers Henry and William Lankfer, and twins Tom and Ben Goude picked for Cambs U20 side
No fewer than six Wisbech Rugby Club players were selected and represented Cambridgeshire County Under-20's versus Cambridge University U20s on Monday evening (November 11) under the lights at Saffron Walden.
Dan Di Meo, Frazer Brown, brothers Henry and William Lankfer, as well as twin brothers Tom and Ben Goude are all regular Wisbech 1st XV players.
Both Goude brothers are also part of the Wisbech U18 Colts team captained by Tom.
Cambridgeshire County came out on top 15-13 in a hard fought match, with Frazer Brown scoring a fantastic try.
Both 1st XV players Zac Lakey (18) and Luke Green (19) are also on the under-20 county radar and should be involved with the squad after Christmas.
All eight of them will be part of the Eastern Counties under-20 development pathway programme.
Wisbech director of rugby Leonard Veenendaal expressed his pride at the six's selection, saying: “With the prospect of Zac and Luke who will be part of the program after Christmas, it is an absolute achievement for the club to contribute eight players.
"I am delighted for all eight of them and the whole club is extremely proud of their selection and outstanding individual performances of the six Wisbech players tonight.
"It reflects just how young our 1st XV are, and a credit to our player development program.
"Some of these lads were playing under-17 rugby a season ago, I guess we must be doing something right."
