Three Counties Running Club (TCRC) on Saturday celebrated a fantastic achievement by club member Colin Apps and his wife Miranda.

Saturday saw Colin run his 304th parkrun, but also at his 100th different parkrun venue, with Miranda achieving her 50th different parkrun as a volunteer.

The Apps family have travelled far and wide to Cardiff, Jersey, Bakewell and Bushy, Dublin, to name a few and finished off his 100th at Crowland.

The Snowden Fields Parkrun is run entirely on grass and the course definitely lived up to its name, with thick fog and with the grass covered in thick white ice, meaning it was heavy on the legs and underfoot.

Of the 11 TCRC members who took part, only one had run at Snowden Fields before.

First home was Colin Apps 25:55. Other times – Jonny Clark 25:56, Matt Hunter 27:44, Sarah Melton-Whitelam 28:22 (1st in age), Melvin Green 28:38, Tracy Pratt 28:54 (1st in age), Gary Pratt 28:54, Victoria May 30:29 (2nd in age), Tony Lamb 30:35, Steve Whitelam 31:50, Tracey Else and Sarah Lamb 32:12. A great turn-out and the home-made cake made by daughter Joely went down a treat.

A cold, frosty but sunny Sunday morning saw Tracey Else take part in the Bedford half-marathon organised by Bedford Harriers.

The start was on narrow country roads so it took a while to get into the flow.

The first eight miles were uphill, mainly country roads, with a nice four-mile downhill/flat section, and the last mile a gradual climb to the finish. Definitely PB conditions but not a PB course, said Tracey, who raced to a new PB of 1:56:08.
