Wins for Wisbech and Parson Drove but defeats for March and Wisbech St Mary
There were two good wins for Fenland sides this afternoon, one agonizing defeat and a battering.
In the Buildbase FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round, Wisbech Town recorded an excellent 2-0 victory at Isthmian League North Division promotion contenders Bury Town. Danny Draper opened the scoring for the Fenmen in the 43rd minute and Dylan Edge made it 2-0 in the 71st minute.
In the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division, March Town conceded in the 92nd minute to lose 5-4 at high-flying Mulbarton Wanderers. The home side scored twice in six minutes to lead 2-0 in the first half, before a Jack Friend penalty and a Danny Emmington effort made it 2-2. A penalty for the home side made it 3-2 at half time.
Wanderers made it 4-2 in the 57th minute,only for Craig Gillies and Friend to make it 4-4, before the last gasp winner.
In the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League First Division North, Parson Drove kept their third clean sheet in four games as they triumphed 1-0 at home to Needham Market Reserves, Ryan Lennon winning and converting a 73rd minute penalty.
In the same division, Wisbech St Mary were thrashed 11-0 at third placed Norwich CBS and are bottom of the table with nine defeats from nine.
