Seven up for Wisbech St Mary




Wisbech St Mary secured a second Cambs County League Premier Division win of the season in some style as they thrashed Isleham United 7-1 on Saturday.

Grant Rider led the way with the 43-year-old notching a hat-trick for Saints, while other goals came from Chris Gunkel, Joe Mummery, Archie Wilkinson and sub Joe Reed.

Wimblington are up to second in Senior A after a 4-2 home win over Somersham Town, man of the match Daniel Harradine with a 30-yard screamer, Jay Rout and subs Sebastian Goldspink and Ashton Newton on target, while other sub Rory Parker was sent off.

Chatteris Town Reserves are up to second in 1B after a 3-2 win at Alconbury, Liam Monaghan, Charlie Munns and Harry Powley netting, but the latter also seeing red.

March Town United A won 4-2 against Outwell Swifts, who have now lost two of their three games this season. Jesse Cowles led the way with two for The Hares, Joshua Bryant and Dayne Moore also on target. Ross Beart and George Dimambro scored for Swifts.

Benwick Athletic (Christchurch) were thrashed 9-0 at home to Littleport Town.

Manea United top 2B after a 3-1 win at Wicken Amateurs, Joe Snooks, Joshua Sutterby and Samuel Wood scoring. Wisbech St Mary Development A went down 4-1 at Willingham Wolves, Harvey Wood netting for Saints.

Wisbech St Mary B are second in 3B after a 3-1 home win over FC Kennett, Adam Key, sub Michael Chow and Jason Chilton scoring after Kennett had struck first. But AEK United were beaten 3-1 at Bluntisham Rangers, with Dan Hempson on target. March Academy went down 3-0 at Isleham United Reserves.

Wisbech Town Acorns are fourth in 4C after a 2-1 win at Outwell Swifts Reserves, Naglis Skiudulas and Darren Singleton scoring for Acorns but Arpad Vajda sent off. Chatteris Town A won 6-0 at Hinchingbrooke United, Ryan Peachey and sub Alfie Moore scoring two each and Nathan Nash and Ethan Mills also scoring.

Wimblington Reserves were also in the goals, triumphing 7-3 at Mepal and Sutton Reserves, Jack Davis, Robert Munden and Joe Waters all getting braces, and sub Joshua Hussey also netting. Marshland Saints Reserves won 3-2 at Stretham Reserves.

In the Premier Division of the Peterborough League, Chatteris Town lost 2-1 at home to Peterborough Reserves, Sam Bond scoring for The Lilies.

Long Sutton Athletic won 3-1 at Oundle Town to make it nine wins from nine in Division One, Jordan Keeble, Max Seaman and Corey Compton all scoring in the first half. Wisbech Town Reserves drew 2-2 at Glinton & Northborough, Harry Ashby netting both for The Fenmen.

In Division Two, Leverington Sports Reserves lost 2-1 at Kings Cliffe, Grady Goode having given Sports a first-half lead. Whittlesey Athletic were beaten 2-1 at South Lincolnshire Swifts, Cameron Stent scoring but Louie Ding seeing red, and Tydd lost 4-0 at home to College Wanderers in the Lincolnshire Junior Cup.

Long Sutton Athletic Reserves are still unbeaten this season and through to the next roiund of the Peterborough Junior Cup after a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win at Moulton Harrox Reserves. The teams had drawn 3-3 with Jamal Nyang, Samuel Pemberton and Harry Munson scoring for Magpies.

Leverington Sports Development lost 4-0 at Littleport United in Division Four.

Marshland Saints are through to the next round of the Norfolk Junior Cup after a walkover win over East Harling.
