Six games left for Parson Drove after Whittlesey defeat
Parson Drove’s topsy turvy first season in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League First Division North continued on Saturday with a 3-0 home defeat against Whittlesey Athletic.
After promotion from the Peterborough League, Drove have struggled for consistency this season, and are second from bottom with six games remaining.
Ace striker James Hill-Seekings scored a hat-trick for Athletic and, to make matters worse, Drove saw the influential Adam Jackson red carded nine minutes before the end for a bad tackle.
One of the problems facing joint managers Gary Haime and Robbie Harris this season has been player availability, and they were short on numbers again against Whittlesey, just a month after beating the play-off contenders on their own patch. Drove travel to play strugglers
Debenham LC this Saturday, before a tough challenge at title contenders Sheringham on Saturday, March 26 and a local derby at Wisbech St Mary on March 30.
