Parson Drove look to bounce back from Dowham Town defeat in Leiston Reserves six-pointer
Parson Drove face a double-header in the coming week as they continue their push away from the bottom of the table.
Arran Duke’s side, who have been without their manager while he recovers in hospital, picked up three points from the six on offer last week.
On Tuesday evening, they gave their survival hopes a major boost with an excellent win over in-form Whittlesey Athletic in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North.
Rory Harper and Nandeli Pelembe both scored their first goals for the club to seal a victory which propelled them to 16th in the standings.
They then turned their attention to a tough test against Dowham Town, with their triumph giving them hopes of springing yet another upset.
However, the West Norfolk side emerged as 4-1 winners on Saturday. Matteo Perkins grabbed the Drove goal.
The club’s Twitter page read: “Beaten by the better team on the day.”
Leiston Reserves are next up for the Fenland side, with Drove making the trip for their next league clash this Saturday.
They are then back at home on Tuesday evening when they welcome Huntingdon Town at their hunt for more points continues.
The Leiston clash could prove particularly pivotal, with both sides level on points and have played the same number of games.
