The sporting summer of 1990 will always be remembered for Gazza’s tears, Pavarotti’s Nessun Dorma and England’s World Cup semi final penalty shoot out failure against Germany.
Meanwhile, at The Avenue – home of March Town Cricket Club – their 1st XI had just celebrated winning their first silverware, the Jaidka Cup.
However, I would like to take you back to Saturday, July 21 and the Clare College ground where the local cricket team played a never to be forgotten match against the powerful Granta outfit.
