Steve Seymour’s all-round heroics meant March Town beat Cambs Tucker League 2012 champions Foxton by seven wickets on Saturday for their third win in as many weeks.

The Australian took 3-35 during the hosts’ total of 200-7 and smashed an unbeaten 76 as March cruised to 202-3 in 31 overs. James Harradine picked up 2-36 and added 31 not out.

David Hodson (36) and Stephen Shaw (32) also contributed in what skipper Chris Ringham described as “the best win in years.”

Skipper Ben Pyle scored an unbeaten 104 as the Sunday 1st Xl totalled 250 all out at Eaton Socon in Rutland League Division 1 and lost by 39 runs. Vice-captain David Hodson compiled 53.

Jody Betts struck 75 for the 2nd Xl’s 45-run victory over Hardwick at The Avenue on Saturday in CCA Senior League Division 1.

He shared in a second wicket stand of 75 with Rob Moden (42) in the 208-9 total.

Three wickets from Andy Wright and a brace each from James Fountain and Richard Green saw the visitors dismissed for 163.

The 3rd Xl were hustled out for 47 in CCA Junior League Division 3N at second in the table Abbots Ripton. Only Jamie Stimpson (15) and Josh Fox (12) made double figures. The hosts had struggled to 84, Greg Short (4-26) and Stuart Arnold (3-3) the top bowlers.

The 4ths have finally got their season up and running in CCA Junior League Division 5N.

Mark Hilliard’s 59 put them on the road to a 22-run victory against St Ives 3rds.

Luke Fage hit 42 and James Mortlock 33 in the March total of 182-6. In reply Sam Mason took 3-26 and Stuart Fox 2-31 as the home side finished on 160-6.
