Chatteris bounced back with a convincing 136-run win against Godolphin.
Chatteris won the toss and elected to bat first. All seven batsmen made good contributions, but an innings of 104 from Peter Munns was by far the pick of them. Batting for a long while with an injured toe, he carried his bat from the fifth over.
Other notable scores were: K. Cunningham 16, A. Bamford 21, S. Piper 18, D. Martell 12, M. Hollis 11 and L. Boxall 17, as Chatteris finished on 217-6.
Chatteris opening bowlers made early inroads, A. Palmer taking 2-12 and Piper 1-27. That good work was continued by 18 year old Jake Kaval who recorded 2-3, and S. Thomas 1-16. Munns was unable to bowl but Bamford picked up 3-19 as Godolphin were skittled in the 30th over for 81.
Captain Anthony Palmer said: “After last week’s disappointing result it was important to get back to winning ways and we have been very good at home this season. Peter batted with real class to score a very good 100 and Jake bowled very well. We have two games left and we are hoping to just keep trying to win.”
