Three Counties Running Club’s Phil and Vicki Newton completed the Nene Valley 20-mile trail race
Three Counties Running Club’s husband and wife team Phil and Vicki Newton took part in The Nene Valley 20-mile trail race.
The Nene Valley trail races show the participants the best of this beautiful area, running on tracks and paths in the Northamptonshire countryside.
The duo agreed it was a beautiful undulating route with countryside scenery and hot and humid conditions for a small but well-organised event.
Vicki was the first lady home, winning some well-deserved Blueberry Fizz in a time of 3:15.35 and finishing 13th out of a field of 49 runners.
Phil struggled when his back seized up around mile 14 and hobbled through to the finish line, still with a fantastic time of 3:25.41 for 16th place.
