Amsterdam and York among the destinations for Three Counties runners
Three Counties Running Club (TCRC) members took to the fast streets of Amsterdam, the historic city of York and a host of local parkruns.
Club duo Alice Ingman and Janette Smith jetted off to the Netherlands to represent the club at the prestigious TCS Amsterdam Marathon.
The World Athletics Platinum Label event is renowned for its flat, fast course and world-class atmosphere.
Both runners put in sterling performances, with Ingram finishing in 5:29:36 and Smith close behind in 5:48:59.
Closer to home, clubmate Jayne Spurrier took on the Altra Yorkshire Marathon for the second time, determined to improve on her previous effort.
The scenic 26.2-mile route through the city of York and the surrounding countryside is famed for its crowd support and picturesque views.
Purrier rose to the occasion, clocking an impressive 4:24:41 in ideal running conditions.
TCRC members were also out in force at parkruns across the region.
At Wisbech, Tracey Else-Freestone led the way in 26:13, followed by Ewa Szczygielska, who bagged a personal best of 27:13. Sarah Lamb crossed in 32:02, while Sarah-Jane Macdonald completed the course in 59:36 as a guide walker.
Over at King’s Lynn, James Stace finished in 24:26, with Daisy Green (26:05), Les Phillips (26:36), Melvin Green (27:48), and Lesley Phillips (37:55) all putting in solid runs.
At Blickling, Colin Apps ran 28:07, while Joely Apps achieved a huge 15-minute PB with 30:54, and Jennie Ambrose followed in 32:05.
Meanwhile, Debbie Agger completed Lyme Parkrun in 31:59, and at Sandringham, Matthew Knott crossed the line in 28:15.
