Cambridge and West Acre the two destinations for Three Counties Running Club members

West Acre was the venue for Three Counties Running Club member Tracy Adams and her four-legged friend Finn.

The West Acre Wild Run is an off-road 10K which follows a series of undulating bridle paths and woodland tracks through the picturesque Norfolk countryside.

There was a small section of paved road at the start after which the route followed farm and woodland paths which are generally dry although there is a small length of farm track that sometimes becomes quite wet and muddy depending upon recent rainfall.

There were several obstacles on the route which runners were free to choose to attempt.

However, the route crosses the West Acre fords just before the finish, which can be crossed using a narrow walkway.

It was recommended that those who chose to run through it made sure they had spare trainers and socks to change into. This is where Finn had his first swim.

The weather was ideal for the runners and Tracy and Finn had a great run finishing in a time of 1:03:51.

Gary Ingrey took part in The Cambridge Town and Gown 10k race.

It was a beautiful autumn morning for the annual race around Cambridge.

The course is renowned for the great atmosphere throughout the city with plenty of cheering spectators driving the runners on. This is a very well-organised run which also incorporates a section along the River Cam.

The chosen charity for the event was Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Ingrey had a fantastic run finishing in a time of 49:55.

Sunday saw TCRC member, Kim Coultard take part in the Felbrigg 10k, organised by North Norfolk Surf Life Saving Club.

The event offered three distances over multi-terrain trails circulating the National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall, three miles from Cromer.

The three chipped-timed distances started on the south lawns at the front of the wonderful Felbrigg Hall and progressed up through the woods, past the Ice House and around to the back of the house.

The routes are a mixture of undulating and flat, taking in stunning views of the 17th-century hall and its grounds which have little changed since 1807.

The 5k and 10k route was a figure-of-eight trail past the church and around the lake.

It then headed up through woodland, where it was slightly wet and uneven underfoot, before going back down through the fields across grazing land complete with cattle, finishing off with a 1.4k straight up the west approach to the front of the hall.

The 5k was one loop of the course and the 10k was two. The weather was ideal, a little fresh to start but the sun got out to help warm up the spectators.

There were 416 participants across the three distances and great support on the lovely grounds of Felbrigg Hall.

Coultard enjoyed a great run and finished in a time of 1:08:56.
