Lincs Junior Cup

3rd Round

Tydd SM 3

Mablethorpe 0

Tydd St Mary FC made it nine wins on the bounce when they breezed past Mablethorpe Athletic into the last 16 on Saturday, and have now won every game since early September.

The pitch was boggy but some good work from the Tydd players and staff got the game played.

On 10 minutes man of the match Tydd ‘keeper David Cooper cleared his lines, Tim Lowe surged down the left wing and floated a trademark pinpoint cross for the onrushing Scott Pemberton to fire a bullet header home.

Lowe (70 minutes) and Paul Clarke (73) from 30 yards out added decisive goals.

Manager, Carl Wilson, said: “Every player to a man performed at their best today against a very good side and in difficult playing conditions. They worked hard for each other, with high intensity and they kept asking themselves questions. I am proud of them all.”

Cambs League 3b

Wisbech St Mary B 4

Benwick Ath 1

Benwick had the chances to get at least a point when James Osbourne and Matt Grainger hit the post and Jonny Henson had a shot cleared off the line.

Their only goal was a penalty from Jordan Tombling. WSM B were clinical with their chances.
