Sutton Bridge United triumph in an all-Division Two Challenge Cup clash at Leverington Sports Reserves
Whittlesey Athletic Reserves crashed out of the Peterborough Senior Cup at the first hurdle on Saturday, beaten at home 4-2 on penalties by fellow Premier Division side Whaplode Drove Rovers after a 1-1 draw. Asif Rayyan scored for Athletic.
In the Peterborough Challenge Cup, Sutton Bridge United won 5-3 on penalties in an all-Division Two clash at Leverington Sports Reserves following a 3-3 draw.
Fernando Rocha netted twice for Sports and Kieran Bates was also on target, with Ryan Brothwell, Matthew Clayden and Jack Thomas scoring for United.
Division Two side Tydd exit the Challenge Cup after a 4-3 penalty defeat at Division One outfit Bourne Town Reserves, following a 2-2 draw. Matthew Cousins scored both for Tydd.
Jamie Burnham saw red for Leverington Sports as they suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Deeping Rangers Reserves in the Peterborough League Premier Division.
In Division One, leaders Long Sutton Athletic made it eight wins from eight with a 3-1 victory at Glinton & Northborough, Kyle Compton with his seventh of the season, Kieron McConnell and Jack Fowler netting during a 20-minute second-half purple patch.
Long Sutton Athletic Reserves continue their unbeaten start to the season in Division Three with a 3-3 home draw against Stamford Belvedere Reserves. Jack Baker, Calvin Bird and Adam Crane scored for The Magpies.
In Division Four, Leverington Sports Development were well beaten, 5-0 at Dudu Footy.
In the Premier Division of the Cambs County League, Wisbech St Mary lost 4-0 at Ely City Reserves, while in Senior A, Wimblington drew 1-1 at Haverhill Rovers Reserves, Kyle Liddy scoring.
Wisbech St Mary Reserves beat Alconbury 3-1 in 1B, Pawel Kalvzny netting twice and Ajay Jolly also on target, while Outwell Swifts triumphed 4-0 at Needingworth United, goals coming from Jack Brand, Kain Ward, Adam Lewis and Rossi Beart.
Chatteris Town Reserves won their first match of the season, 2-0 at home to Eynesbury Rovers Reserves, Rueben Beaney and Harry Powley scoring but Matthew Walshe being red carded.
Benwick Athletic (Christchurch) lost 4-2 at The Eagle, Ross Alexander and Kieran Bass scoring, while March Town A lost 2-1 at home to Great Paxton, Oliver Belton scoring.
Manea United drew 2-2 at Burwell in 2B, and Wisbech St Mary Development A won 5-2 at home to AFC Mildenhall, Harvey Wood getting two, veteran Stuart Beckett and subs Jack Codrington and Haydn Gadsden also on target.
Wisbech St Mary B won 4-0 at Tempsford in 3B, Lewis Millar scoring the first two before Joe Whyborn and sub Luke Freeman added two more. March Academy lost 2-1 at home to Hartford Rangers Reserves, Joseph Tully scoring, and AEK United of Guyhirn went down 1-0 at home to FC Kennett.
Wisbech Town Acorns beat Needingworth United Reserves 3-0 in 4C, Cody Martin netting twice, and Chatteris Town A drew 3-3 at home to Mepal and Sutton Reserves, Ben Kimberley scoring twice for The Lilies and Ryan Peachey also on target.
Wimblington Reserves lost 3-2 at home to Stretham Reserves, Robbie Ryan and sub Dale Richardson scoring, and Marshland Saints Reserves triumphed 5-4 at Shouldham Youth in the Norfolk Primary Cup.
