Norwich and Stamford are the destinations for Three Counties members
Three Counties Running Club members took part in two different Valentine's races.
Four participated in the Stamford Striders' flagship St Valentine 30k race.
It is run each year on the Sunday closest to St Valentine's Day.
The race is recognised nationally as a tough event, providing a good training race for those planning a spring marathon.
The 2025 event was the 31st running of this prestigious event and is a club race organised by runners for runners.
With the London Marathon back to its April date, Stamford Striders were expecting the St Valentine’s 30k to serve as the ideal preparation for marathon training schedules.
The race also offers the language of love for any old romantics and if runners are in a “genuine relationship” with another runner, they can register as a Valentine pair and get a box of chocolates when they finish.
Starting and finishing at Stamford Welland Academy, the race took place on scenic, country roads which are quite narrow in places and very undulating.
The runners finish off the 30k with a lap of the field at the Academy. It was fairly cool, dry and a little windy in places
Three Counties representatives all had fantastic runs.
