Victor the Sutton Bridge winner
Sutton Bridge Racing Pigeon Club held its second old bird race of the season weekend on Saturday.
Basketing took place Friday evening at the club house and 202 birds were entered into the club race by 11 members.
The birds were then transported to Whitby with other birds from the federation.
The birds were released on Saturday morning at 9am into a north wind.
The first bird home, was a two-year-old Roland Janson blue pied Cock bird owned by Victor Martins from Holbeach, it flew 119 miles and 1484 yards in 1hr, 47 mins 19 sec giving a velocity of 1965.234 yards a minute.
Martins provided the next two birds home.
The first was a two-year-old Cock bird in 1hr, 47mins 21 sec giving a velocity of 1964.624 yards a minute; and a two-year-old Cock which also flew the same miles in 1hr, 47mins 23 sec giving a velocity of 1964.014 yards a minute.
The fourth bird home was owned by Terry Winterton with a two-year-old cock bird flying 121 miles 983 yards in 1hr 50 mins 22 sec giving a velocity of 1938.284.
