Tilney All Saints Primary School pupil picked to represent Eastern Counties at U11 regional tournament
Skaters Rink Hockey Club’s young sensation Jack Smith, aged 9, has earned a regional call-up.
He has just been picked to represent Eastern Counties at a regional tournament for the Under-11s.
This is also a milestone in the fledgling Walpole Highway-based club’s history since it started in 2015.
Jack (pictured) started playing roller hockey at the age of 6.
He lives at Terrington St John and goes to Tilney All Saints Primary School.
The club stated: “His parents Steve and Lucy are extremely proud of his achievements as he has just been picked to represent Eastern Counties Rink Hockey at a regional tournament for the Under-11s.
“This is a major achievement for him and the club as this is the first time in the Walpole Highway-based club’s history since it started in 2015.
“Jack trains and plays in the under-11s and under-13s for Skaters Rink Hockey Club.
“He has also been picked to be part of the England Vision project alongside two other Skaters players – Flynn Kerry and Jack Hurn.
“This involves trips to Portugal to train and compete and also the opportunity to represent England as their careers progress.”
Skaters Rink Hockey Club trains on a Tuesday night in Walpole Highway and says it is a great sport to play and to keep fit.
