Marshland Saints battle back to draw with Upwell Town in eight goal thriller

There was a thriller in the North West Norfolk League Division One on Saturday, where Marshland Saints and Upwell Town drew 4-4 in a fiery derby clash.

Dylan Hopkins, Lewis Sparkes and sub Bradley Didwell were among the Saints scorers, while Sam Cubberley, Ricky Mason and Pawel Kaluzny (2) netted for Town, who were 4-2 up with ten minutes remaining.

In Division Three Marshland Saints Reserves lost 4-2 at West Winch William Burt Reserves.

March Town Reserves slipped to 13th place in the Cambridgeshire County League Kershaw Premier with a 1-0 home defeat against second placed Great Shelford. In Division 1B Benwick Athletic started their season with a 1-0 defeat at Buckden, while March Town A and Chatteris Town drew 0-0.

Wimblington made it two wins from two with a 2-0 victory at Wisbech Town Acorns in 2B, Liam Brady and Rory Parker getting their goals. Christchurch Magpies went down 5-0 at Burwell Tigers, Guyhirn were defeated 6-0 at Exning United and Chatteris Reserves were beaten 5-2 at Longstanton, Anton Kaval and Liam Parish scoring for the Lilies, who had Thomas Chapman red carded.

In 3B, Wimblington Reserves lost 2-1 at home to Cambridge Ambassadors, with Paul Evans on target, while in 3C Fen Tigers Engineers beat Doddington United 13-0, meaning United have conceded 35 goals in just two games. Harry Powley (4), George Terry (3), Dean Joyce (2), Rueben Beaney (2), Will Terry and Hugo Bryant scored for Engineers.

Manea United drew 2-2 with Littleport Town and March Academy lost 6-1 at home to Little Downham & Pymoor Swifts.

In 4C Guyhirn Reserves beat AFC Ely 2-1, with Sam Knott among the scorers, Benwick Athletic Reserves drew 3-3 at Lakenheath Casuals, with Thomas Lumley netting twice and Jordan Mason also on target for Athletic.

Outwell Swifts Reserves lost 1-0 at home to AFC Walpole Reserves, with Ant Matos scoring.

In the Peterborough League Premier Division, Long Sutton Athletic are second from bottom after six games following a 6-1 home defeat to Oundle Town, Ryan Brothwell scoring for the Magpies.

Wisbech Town Reserves made it three wins from four in Division One after a 6-2 victory at Pinchbeck United Reserves, Kieran Hamilton netting four and Ajay Jolly and Andrian Parfenovich also scoring. Tydd drew 2-2 at home to Moulton Harrox Reserves, Edwin Pentney among the goals.

In Division Two, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves lost 3-2 at Hampton , while in Division Four, Sutton Bridge are top with four wins from four after a 4-1 victory at Orton Rangers Reserves, Ben English, Ben Partridge and Mark Garner among the scorers.
