LEARN MOREMarch Town Ladies player, Sydney Davis, is taking time out of football to raise money and awareness for the Samaritans, running the Brighton Marathon on April 19.
Sydney is a Samaritans volunteer and passionate about the organisation, which answers a call for help every six seconds. With no pressure or judgement, the Samaritans respond to all calls for help.
Sydney is also running with her boyfriend, Dan, and brother-in-law, Adi Fisher, who are also supporting a great cause.
March Town manager and Sydney’s father, Gary Davis, said: “All three are raising money and awareness of the Samaritans. It means Syd has been concentrating on running over the last few months, at the expense of her football, but the team are proud of her.
“There are lots of people in need of someone to talk to and Samaritans is one of the most well-known ways that support can reach out.
“There have been recent cases of celebrity suicides, and many people are touched by losing family members and friends in this tragic way. The Samaritans can sometimes be the difference between life and death.”
