White claims the only top spot

Hallie White claimed the only top spot when Chatteris Kingfishers competed in the first round of the Senior Fenland League at King’s Lynn.

White won her 12/U 50m butterfly race as Chatteris finished second with 131 points, behind hosts West Norfolk with 204, but ahead of Ely and Wisbech with 124 and Diss Otters with 116 points.

The club also managed 14 second spots and 13 third places, with 10 personal best times.

White also took second place in the 14/U 100m backstroke (pb) and third in both the 14/U 100m front crawl and 100m IM (pb).

Real team spirit saw the team finishing in second place in the senior boys medley relay and front crawl relay and the junior girls and boys front crawl relay.

Also swimming to second places were: Maisie Harper, 12/U 50m backstroke (pb) and 100m IM, Mark Thompson, Open 100m IM and 100m butterfly, Liam Hill, 14/U 100m front crawl and Liam Oliver, Open 100m front crawl, Thomas Hanley, 12/U 50m breaststroke, Finley Harper, 14/u 100m butterfly (pb) and Jake Hoy, 14/U 100m breaststroke.

Swimming to third places were the senior and junior girls’ medley relay teams and the cannon relay team.

Also making the podium in third were: Mark Thompson, Open 100m back and breaststroke, Thea Hanley, 10/U 50m front crawl and backstroke, Finley Harper, 14/U 100m I.M. (p.b.), Jake Hoy, 14/U 100m backstroke and Layla White and Reece Simpson (p.b.), both 10/U 50m butterfly.

Further personal best times were achieved by Connie Denman (100m fly), Reece Simpson and Thea Hanley (50m breaststroke) and finally Kiera Simpson (100m breaststroke).
