Wisbech Grammar netballers on winning streak

More than 200 netball players took part in matches at Wisbech Grammar School in a triangular tournament against Gresham’s and Oundle.

Some 11 teams from each school competed against each other. The undefeated U14A team against Gresham’s took the game 20-19 in the final seconds. Against Oundle they won 19-14.

Head of netball, Mrs Goodier, said: “These results are testament to the hard work of the players and coach, Miss Cook.”

Wisbech Grammar’s Prep School, Magdalene House, were runners-up in a similar tournament at Stamford. The U10A team won three of their matches against Leicester Grammar (7-2), Copthill and Stamford (3-2); losing to Laxton. Magdalene were awarded medals for their efforts. Their coach, Mrs Reavell, said: “The team were thrilled with their performance.”
