Jack Maryon notched fourth place finish in one of the heats

By Fenland Citizen Reporter

Local drivers were heavily involved in another great night of National Banger action at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena last Saturday.

Team Allsorts drivers had a great night in the Micro Bangers with James Licquorice putting on another great display of racing and entertainment which saw him end up with two entertainer awards as well as a brace of top ten finishes which included a fantastic fourth place finish in the meeting final.

Brother Jack also had a good race in the final which saw him come home in seventh place whilst team member Jack Maryon was also in the places through the night with a fourth place finish in one of the heats.

Jon Bailey and Aston Gibbons were also heavily involved in the action in the Micro Bangers throughout the night.

Dan Wright put in some good drives in the Sunny and Mk 1 Almera Bangers and was unlucky to have nothing to show for them. It was great to see Liam Brinton back out in the National Bangers as the local star made his first appearance for a number of seasons and it did not take him long to get heavily involved in the action as he put in some great shots in his first heat which earned him an entertainer award before ending up on his roof later in the night after another entertaining display!

Lee Horwood also put in a great display in the All Sunny / Almera Bangers and ended up with a great fourth place finish in one of his heats whilst Nick Wakeham was also involved in the action throughout the night.

The Junior Banger saw lower grade drivers dominate the night with it being tough for the stars to make progress throughout the night. Lennie Murkin’s best finish was a ninth place finish in one of the heats whilst Louie Cottrill suffered damage in both his heats and failed to finish before bouncing back with a good drive in the final which netted him a sixth place finish.

Racing returns to King’s Lynn over the Easter weekend with Unlimited Bangers, 2L and 1300 Stock Cars in action on Saturday, April 20 and the annual Wacky Races on Monday, April 22 featuring the 4x4 SUV Bangers, Reliant Robins, Micro Banger Crazy Races and Siamese Bangers.
