More than 30 volunteers from rugby clubs across Eastern Counties celebrated

The work of three Wisbech RUFC volunteers has been acknowledged by the England Rugby Mitsubishi Volunteer Recognition Programme.

Tracy Veenendaal, Leonard Veenendaal and Dave Dobson attended an event at Constitution Mitsubishi, Norwich, on May 3 at which the contributions of more than 30 volunteers from rugby clubs across Eastern Counties were celebrated.

The event hosts made particular mention of Tracy’s work in videoing matches to provide coaches with a valuable resource for match preparations.

Leonard was recognised for his efforts to revive the Wisbech RUFC 2nd XV, his contribution to the Friday night ‘under the lights’ rugby programme and for the transition of young players to adult rugby during the last two seasons.

Meanwhile, Dave received his award for his many years’ service and efforts as club secretary, fixture secretary and other invaluable duties he performs for the club.

n The club's AGM will be held on Monday, June 3, starting at 7.15pm. All members for the 2018-2019 season are invited and encouraged to attend.

The club management committee for 2019-2020 will be elected at the AGM and other vital volunteer roles will be allocated.

The club needs more volunteers.
