Wisbech all-rounder James Williams starred for Cambridgeshire in their three-day Minor Counties Championship match with a century.
Cambs were on Sunday night firmly in control of their clash against Bedfordshire at March after the opening day’s play.
Williams from Wisbech and three Peterborough Town players masterminded the advantage.
Cambs batted first and didn’t make the best of starts. They were rocking at 53-4 but then Williams and Peterborough Town’s Callum French came to the rescue.
They batted superbly and added 174 for the fifth wicket with Williams ending up with 103 and French on 79. Cambs closed out on 330 all out in 90 overs.
Peterborough Town’s Joe Dawborn then turned in a star performance with the ball. He took 5-24 off seven overs and Beds were reeling at 75-6 at the close.
