Mel Mattless's Saints troops defeat mid-table visitors

Fresh from their first draw of the year the previous week, Wisbech St Mary FC have now picked up their first league win of 2019.

In Thurlow Nunn League Division One North, Mel Mattless's Saints troops on Saturday defeated mid-table visitors AFC Sudbury Reserves 3-1.

This result also lifted Wisbech St Mary off the foot of the table, with basement side Felixstowe & Walton United Res being thumped 1-5 at home to promotion-chasing Mulbarton Wanderers.

Wisbech St Mary are now a point away from third from bottom Haverhill Borough.

Next Saturday Saints travel to Needham Market Reserves.
