Wisbech Town CC have signed ambitious Australian Jack Hargreaves for their 2016 campaign in the Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Premier League’s top flight.
Hargreaves (23) is playing for the star studded Gold Coast Dolphins in Queensland Premier Cricket. An opening batsman and competent leg-spinner, he plays predominantly in the top flight in the my FootDr First Grade Competition.
Hargreaves has spent the past five years with the Dolphins following a successful transition from junior into senior grade cricket where he skippered both second and third grades. This summer he has played in 10 of his 13 matches in the top flight.
He was a Southport School 1st XI stand-out – GPS Premiers (2011, 12) and State Cup winners (2009, 10, 11). He represented the South Coast through the age-groups and was the highest run scorer for the State during the Under-19 carnival.
With a view to progressing his own game, Hargreaves has now realised his aim of spending the 2016 summer in England by being snapped by the Harecroft Road side.
