Fenmen take on loan Peterborough United academy player Oliver Shackleton

By Pete Woodhouse

Wisbech Town FC manager Gary Setchell paid tribute to departed striker Alex Beck, who is taking a break for personal reasons.

Setchell told the club's website: "Alex rang me this week. He loved his time at the club. He said he loved playing under me. We wish him the best.

"He's a big loss. He scored 40 goals last year at Step 5. But at Step 4 the level is so much different to last year. With the off the field things happening for him – house renovation, the new-born baby, his workload – he'll be taking a break."

Beck's last game for the club was the county cup semi-final loss on penalties against Ely on Tuesday.

Setchell added: "On the plus side, we've brought in the young lad from Peterborough (academy player Oliver Shackleton)."

Shackleton, on loan for the rest of the season, came on as substitute in Saturday's 2-1 home loss to Belper.
