A charity blues gig will be taking place later this month with all proceeds going towards a village church.

Local blues band The Jon de Konker Root will be performing at Ten Mile Bank village hall on Saturday, April 26 with money raised going to the continued upkeep St Mark’s Church in the village.

Singer and guitarist Mark said: “We invite everyone to join us for a night of live blues music, featuring a mix of electric blues hits from legendary artists like Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top, Elmore James and Muddy Waters, along with some blues-infused pop classics. Tickets are just £5 at the door, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own drinks.”

Mark, whose mother serves on the parish council, added: “With the closure of the village school, St Mark’s is now one of the last remaining communal spaces where residents can gather, offering free teas, coffees and cakes during services. However, maintaining the church requires ongoing financial support, and our gig aims to help in a small way, to keep the lights on and the building in good condition.”
