Jam-packed line-up of events for Parson Drove including Easter egg hunt, Summerfest and black tie event
A busy few months are lined up for a village with something for everybody, from a summer festival to a black tie event.
There are many events happening at St John’s Church in Parson Drove, with the first one taking place this Friday.
A ‘Good Friday Bash’ with live music from the fantastic Barsix will be coming to the church.
Doors will open at 7.30pm and there will be a licensed bar and a raffle. Entry is free, but donations are welcomed.
A children's egg hunt with games and crafts will take place on Sunday from 10am-2pm. Taking part in this event is free and there will be refreshments available.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, a Black Tie Dinner is being held on Saturday, May 3 at 7pm in the church.
The event will offer a fantastic culinary experience, course after course of gastronomic delights accompanied by a flight of specially chosen wines.
It is £60 for non-members, and places are very limited, so book as soon as you can by emailing ChurchEndEvents@btinternet.com
To carry on with the action-packed schedule, on Sunday, May 4, live music with The Rummuns will bring an evening of entertainment.
A licenced bar will be open, and there will be a raffle. Entry is free with donations welcomed. The doors will open at 7.30pm.
On Sunday, June 8, an open garden, market and plant sale will be held at The Old Rectory and St John’s Church from 11am-4pm.
As part of The National Garden Scheme, Helen and Tony will be opening their garden opposite the church for the public. There will also be a plant sale in the churchyard, and as well as this, there will be a makers’ market.
By popular demand, RAW Theatre Productions presents ‘Murder at The Grosvenor’ on Saturday, June 14 at the church.
Guests can tuck into an Agatha Christie-style 1930s murder mystery dinner with welcome cocktails.
Doors will open at 6.30pm for a prompt 7pm start. It is £40 for non-members.

Parsons Drove’s free to enter Summerfest is back for another year on Saturday, August 2 from 3pm-10pm.
There will be live music, real ale and a barbecue, 80s disco, a licensed bar, a raffle and a kids’ zone. There will also be Mally’s Pizzas for this special occasion.
