Wisbech Gallery launches its 2025 Open Exhibition
The team behind Wisbech Gallery recently celebrated the launch of its 2025 Open Exhibition, which showcases 110 works of art that have been created by more than 70 talented artists.
This is the third Annual Open Exhibition in the gallery, and the team was delighted to see an increasing number of new artists submitting their work for consideration by the judging panel, demonstrating the growing creative sector in this region.
During the exhibition launch event, Steph Peachey, head of visitor engagement at the Nene Park Trust, and one of the independent judges who selected the artworks to be displayed, talked about “the importance of being able to see artwork out on display in the public realm and how art can be transformative” and celebrated “the breadth of skills and talent” on show in the exhibition.
The judges also had to select the award-winning artworks, and this year the main award went to artist Eves, who has exhibited across the UK, for his work ‘Remnant Horizon Under Patchwork Sky’. The winning piece was described by the judges as “exciting, demonstrating real ambition and scale”.
The runner-up award went to artist Kelsie Pullen for her work ‘Reframing Graffiti’, and a new award for 2025, sponsored by judge Jamie Andrews to recognise the talent of young artists under the age of 21, went to Lily Rolfe for her work ‘Dejected’.
The exhibition is open to the public from Wednesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm, until Saturday, October 25 at the South Brink gallery. Entry is free and many of the exhibiting artists will be in the gallery on these days, so why not pop in, view the art and chat to the artists too?
