Wisbech hosts spooky event on Saturday
Ghosts, ghouls and all manner of spooky spirits will take over Wisbech as part of the town’s annual Spooktacular Halloween Event.
More than 40 town centre businesses will take part in the free Trick or Treat session that is planned for Saturday, between 3pm and 5pm.
Participants must collect a list of the Trick or Treat locations from the Halloween stall on the Market Place before they start.
Each store will stamp their name on the list; once each has been stamped return the list to the stall to collect a bag of Halloween treats.
Everyone taking part in the event is encouraged to wear fancy dress.
The Mayor of Wisbech, Coun Michael Hill, will judge the best costume at 4pm in the Market Place, plus there will be a prize for the best dress child and adult.
Centre manager of the Horsefair, Kevin Smith, commented: “Halloween is one of our biggest events every year and it’s amazing to see all of Wisbech town centre getting involved.
“The fancy dress event is one of my favourites, people put in so much effort with their costumes – including the parents. I can’t wait to see this year’s entries!”
The Spooktacular Event, which is run in partnership with Wisbech Town Council, will have additional free activities, including balloon modelling and a fairground ride, plus other stalls and attractions that may carry a small charge.
