Cinder Ash Pre-School in Long Sutton is heading into its 43rd year with a brand new look for its youngsters and staff.

New flooring and an outside area for children were unveiled at the pre-school’s Pavilion in Cinder Ash Park where a “Big Reveal” day took place last Wednesday.

Staff and parents organised a range of fundraising family fun days, discos, sponsored park walks and secondhand goods sales, which together raised more than £1,000 towards the new flooring fund.

But the pre-school, started in 1973 and in its current home since 1993, was also helped by a £2,000 grant from the Grange Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund which allowed for the new floor to be fitted this month ready for the new term next month.

A Cinder Ash spokesman said: “We have had the old flooring for at least ten years during which time it had become worn, dated and discoloured.

“Our children, parents and supporters have all worked extremely hard to raise the money needed by many methods and the Grange Wind Far, Community Benefit Fund also helped us with a donation too by way of a grant for £2,000.

“We have also invested in an outside decking area and now everything looks amazing.”
