Wisbech Rose Fair just days away with packed line-up of fun for whole family
Wisbech Rose Fair is just days away, with a line-up of activities which promises to be full of fun for the whole family.
Taking place on Saturday, June 28, the event, with the theme of ‘The Circus ‘, will run from 10am-4pm, with walking parades of groups, organisations, and volunteers headed by Rose Queen, 13-year-old Kacey Goodson-Allen.
The parade will take place twice – as is the tradition – once at 11am and then again at 2pm.
The town will be filled with activities from a Tequila Circus, face painting, Hook-a-Duck, archery stalls, and fairground rides at the Market Place, and stalls in the church gardens, to live music in Museum Square.
There will be historic vehicles and a car display around The Crescent as well as an old-time organ.
The fun does not stop there, at Wisbech Castle there will be Militia of East Anglia re-enactments and historic crafts and cooking to get involved in, as well as a giant circus car, strongman, mirror and a large cannon on Market Street.
This year, the popular parade will be led by Kacey, a young girl who loves beauty and lives with her parents in Wisbech.
Kacey is a keen horse rider who wants dearly to work with the animals in the future.
She tries her best with everything despite being diagnosed with dyslexia.
She’s a practical girl who spends time making and modelling things and has a keen interest in beauty, and hopes to do this for GCSE.
Kacey’s hobbies are horse riding, drawing, and making things, as well as learning to play darts and pool.
Cllr Samantha Hoy said: “She is a lovely young lady, so I am sure she will do well.”
