Quacks and snowdrops at Wisbech General Cemetery in February

Wisbech General Cemetery is the venue in February for not one but two events.

Quackery – the use of fraudulent medicine and treatment – is the topic at the Wisbech Society’s first of this year’s series of events being held at the Old Chapel in Wisbech General Cemetery.

It is on Monday (February 5) at 2.30pm and will see ‘ex-quack’ Dr Eric Somerville discuss some of the 20th and 21st medical scams.

Organisers promise they will not be selling snake oil at this event.

Doors open at 2pm – society members and under 18s free and guests are welcome at £3 each on the door.

Then on Sunday February 11 at 2pm the Friends of Wisbech General Cemetery are hosting a snowdrop walk – it is the first in a series of walks for 2024 focusing on the wildlife, monuments and chapel in this beautiful Victorian cemetery.

Meet outside the chapel – there is a charge of £3 for adults and children and members free.
