Residents at a Marshland St James care home will be snug this winter thanks to a group of knitters.
Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers have presented six twiddle muff comforters from Hickathrift House in Marshland St James.
General Manager, Sue Scarlett was presented with these by Trudie Smart, the West Norfolk organiser
The comforters will be used on the Memory Lane unit for residents who enjoy tactile experiences as each muff is colourful and has numerous accessories which can be “twiddled” with.
The Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers have 2,404 members and 107 groups around the county knitting and stitching for charity. They meet monthly as a group, but also knit in their own homes to provide various items for any number of projects across the globe. They make a range of items for organisations such as the Cats Protection League, the Dogs Trust, Red Cross and care homes, hospitals and hospices.
Hickathrift are hoping that they will be able to support the Norfolk knitters in the future and started by making a donation of wool so they are able to continue their good work. Anyone who would like to make donations of wool please bring it along to the home and it will be forwarded on. Trudie also managed to “sign up” Sue to the group.
