Wisbech Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society are putting the finishing touches to their latest production.
They are currently rehearsing Kiss Me Goodnight Sergeant Major, which will be staged at the town’s Tower Ballroom on Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17.
The show has been written by the society and features songs, dance, monologues and sketches celebrating World War I and World War II in and around Wisbech.
The society has been running for over 100 years and, like most amateur societies, struggles financially due to the ever-increasing costs of putting on a production.
It relies heavily on members, patrons and friends for donations and thanks the Fen Ladies Darts League for a donation of £160 in memory of Penny Slater (nee Marriott), a former active committee member of the society, who sadly passed away in 2010.
The money will be used to cover the cost of lighting for Kiss Me Goodnight Sergeant Major.
Tickets for the show are available in the Post Office area of Etcetera in Wisbech from 10am to 2pm Monday-Saturday for the next two weeks.
