A show fit for spring time as Fenland towns are lit up with special art display

Wisbech was lit-up on Monday as part of a new project aimed at celebrating the beauty of our Fenland communities.

Light Up the Town – a new light art project - illuminated the front of the town’s museum in the first of the project’s displays.

Tonight it will be the turn of March with the Town Hall set to be the venue for the free event.

Chatteris will follow tomorrow evening at the parish church, and then Whittlesey on Friday at St Mary’s Church.

As winter fades and spring begins to bloom, it’s the perfect time to reconnect, come together, and celebrate the beauty of our community.

Light Up The Town aims to brighten our spirits and illuminate our towns with stunning light projection art.

Together with SDNA Moving Image, MarketPlace People and Creative Place has worked hand-in-hand with local community groups to co-create vibrant light shows to light up prominent buildings.

All the events run from 6pm to 8pm, and are open for anyone to go along and enjoy.

MarketPlace has worked with SDNA Moving Image to run creative workshops with community groups in every town. Local gardening groups shared images of their favourite native plants and flowers, which inspired collages crafted in these workshops.
