A woman in her 30s was driving the car. She has since been released from hospital.

Police appealed for witnesses to the accident.

A statement said: "We are appealing to anyone who saw the vehicle lose control, or anyone who was travelling on the A17 around that time, who may have seen the blue 08 plate Mazda prior to the collision.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who has recorded dash cam footage while travelling along the A17 between Long Sutton and Holbeach prior to the collision."
