A carnival in Doddington was a huge success at the weekend as residents came together for a fun day.
On Saturday, the village saw crowds gather to watch the popular parade displayed from The Three Tuns on New Street up to the Benwick Road junction.

Despite the parade being static this year due to insurance to carry people on floats being refused, it was still a “fantastic day” that gathered large crowds.
The parade was made up of nine floats, which were all presented in front of The Three Tuns.

The different floats were from Lionel Walden Primary School, the Scouts, Brownies and the Girl Guides, Doddington Diary organisation and the Ladies at Lunch group.
Gareth Corsield, a member of the carnival committee, said: “All the feedback was absolutely fantastic. Everyone had an amazing day and the turnout was beyond the expectation.
