One of the country's most bashed railway bridges has been in the wars again.
A caravan became stuck after a motorist tried to drive under Stonea railway bridge on Saturday.
The bridge underpass was closed in October 2019 after it was struck twice in one week, with the second causing ‘significant’ damage to the support beam, forcing the closure on safety grounds.
Then, in February this year, it was hit just days after reopening following lengthy repairs. At the time the underpass was closed the bridge had been hit 15 times in 10 months.
